The Bhutanese name for Bhutan, Druk Yul, means "Land of the Thunder Dragon" and it only began to open up to outsiders in the 1970s ,1974 - First foreign tourists allowed in Bhutan.Almost completely cut off for centuries, it has tried to let in some aspects of the outside world while fiercely guarding its ancient traditions.The great Himalayan country lies between India and China .It consists of many Monastery or Dzongs in local dialect .Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.Part of the Himalayas on the eastern end side,Bhutan has much to offer in living in the new age world with ancient traditions to maintain a degree of harmony to its surroundings and nature.

Brief Itinerary - Bhutan Tour
Day 01:- Paro arrival, Transfer to Thimphu [1 hr, 30 min]
Arrive Paro, and visit:Ta dzong (watch tower) built in 1951 to use as a watch tower to
defend Ringpung Dzong and Paro valley during the time of war and converted into national
museum in 1967 which recorded in UNESCO world heritage.Paro Ringpung Dzong which is one
of the finest example of Bhutanese architecture. If still feel energetic you can take ashort walk
down to the cantilever bridge.Drive to Thimphu
Day 02:- Thimphu Sightseeing
Morning a visit Memorial chorten,built in 1974 by her majesty Azhi Phuntsho Choden Wangchuk.Bhuddha point where you will see 169 feet big seating Buddha which one of the largest Buddha statue in the world as well to see the birds eye view of Thimphu city.Weaving Center where you will see some of the ladies weaving some beautiful clothes.Later in the eve visit Bhutan Post, from where you can buy some Bhutanese post card and post it or if you want
you can also make your own personalize stamps.Heritage Museum to see typical example of
traditional farm house Takin reservation center to see our Bhutan’s unique national animal takin.
View point of Tashichoe Dzong the beautiful fortress which houses most of the Government’s
office and King’s Throne room. It is also the summer residence of Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot.
Evening shopping or stroll in Thimphu Market
Day 03:- Thimphu to Phobjekha
Today after breakfast will drive to Gangtey vai Dochula pass (3100 meters) . On reaching
Dochula will stop for the view of eastern Himalayas if the weather is fine. Then will continue to
Gangtey. Will have lunch on the way. Is here where the Black Neck Crane which is a rare
species bird in the world visit in winter every year from Tibet in the month of November to end
of March. After you reach Phobjekha will do a short Gangtey Natural Trail hike is 1 hour and 30
minutes walk from gangtey valley through beautiful bluer pine forest with lovely view of roosting ground of black neck crane.
Day 04 - Phobjekha to Punakha
After breakfast will visit Gangtey Sangacholing Monastery which have one of the best wood
work in Bhutan. Evening visit to Punakha fortress which is one of the impressive fort in Bhutan which is built on theconfluence of 2 rivers(Male and Female). It is also the winter residence of Chief Abbot.Longest suspension bridge on male river
Day 05:- Punakha to Paro[4 hrs 30 min]
Chimi Lhkahang(Devine Madman’s temple) which was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley in 1
5th century (This monk is popularly known as the Devine madman for his philosophy, “Salvation
through sex”). He subdued the demons with his “Magical Thunder bolt”. The Temple is also
known as “The Temple of Fertility”.Then will continue to Paro by evening Stroll in Paro Town and if you want can do some shopping. Towards evening we can take you to the Traditonal Hot stone bath on your own additional expenses. Dinner at farm house so
that you can experience the real Bhutanese style of dining.
Day 06:- Hike to Paro Taktshang(Tigers Nest)
After Breakfast will Hike to Taktshang(Tigers Nest) which is one of the most popular monastery
visited by the tourist. It was first built in 1692,around the Taktsang Senge Samdup, a cave
where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three months in the 8th
century. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) flew to this location from
Khenpajong, Tibet on the back of a tigress and subdued a demon. He then performed
meditation in one of the caves here and emerged in eight incarnated forms(manifestations) and
blessed the place. Subsequently, the place came to be known as the & “Tigers Nest “. Guru
Padmasambhava is known for introducing Buddhism to Bhutan. Today, Paro Taktsang is the
best known of the thirteen caves in which he meditated. In the evening stroll in Paro town.
Dinner and night halt at Paro.
Day 07:- Day Excursion to Chelela
Today after breakfast will drive to Chelela Pass(3980m). It is the highest motorable road in
Bhutan. And from the pass you can have paranomic view of s second highest peak of Bhutan
mountain Jomolhari. Then will drive back to Paro and after lunch will stroll around in Paro town.
Day 08:- Paro Airport - Departures
Morning Drive to Airport - Tour Ends
